There can only be one number one MBA in the world. To the dismay of many talented applicants, the top five Business Schools will only accept those who can demonstrate outstanding business acumen. It is unsurprising, therefore, that nowadays, the majority of students make a strategic decision to apply to Business Schools which have a great potential to become the world’s best ranked MBA. A MBA is an investment, and, especially in times of widespread unemployment and financial crisis, students prefer that a MBA is affordable in the short term, while still maintaining academic value in the future. The Rising Stars is the MBA Ranking of Findyourmba.com. The ranking consist of the top thirty business schools which made significant steps in recent years. Which Business Schools will outperform their peers?
The ranking of 2011 is based on noteworthy improvements, current data and plans of the future. Some data which is used by established rankings is also used for the Rising Stars. But there are also many assessment variables which are unique to our ranking system. These include forum activity, internet activity among MBA students, the consideration the political climate, long term investments of business schools and their strategic choices.
Findyourmba.com critiques Business Schools from a students’ perspective. Therefore, considerations such as campus and amount of students are less important than improvements and developments which enhance the student experience. We questioned many established variables: Working experience is valued highly, is that good or bad? If students do not have that much working experience, they might have more time to profit from their MBA and have more time after the MBA to become a true leader and as a result indirectly boost their MBA? What is the perfect men/women percentage? Does a school need to have 60% or 90% international students? Could a school lose its identity with too many international students? These are all questions which are subjective, but are nevertheless often used in the traditional rankings.
As in previous years, we received many applications than expected, and from these, came the difficult task of selecting the top thirty most promising Business Schools. Findyourmba.com aims to grow every year with the addition of ten or more Business Schools for consideration.
We hereby congratulate the IE Business School with the highest rank on the Rising Stars 2011.
